CLA

Based on CLA - Conjugated Linoleic Acid. CLA is aN essential fatty acid from the Omega 6 series, found naturally in milk and dairy products, in adult beef meat, veal, turkey and chicken. Several studies report its ability to modify body composition, facilitating the percentage increase in lean body mass and the reduction of fat mass. It is assumed that CLA acts simultaneously on both fats and proteins. As for lipids, it inhibits the activity of an intestinal lipase, an enzyme that typically digests fats, thus reducing digestion and absorption. It also boosts an increase in the oxidation of fats for energy purposes. As for proteins, on the other hand, there is an increase in protein synthesis accompanied by a saving of the proteins themselves, which are no longer subject to the gluconeogenic process.

CLA facilitates the reduction of VLDL lipoproteins considered “bad cholesterol”, thus performing an anti-atherogenic action. CLA has also shown an action to improve the immune response. The quality and efficiency of CLA depend on the concentration of the Cis9-Trans11 and Trans10-Cis12 isomers, which are incorporated in cellular phospholipid membranes.
