0 Calorie is an innovative combination of plant extracts capable of reducing intestinal absorption of fats and sugars. Ficus indica extract (Neopuntia™), awarded with prestigious international awards for its efficiency and quality, binds ingested fats with food, which prevents its absorption in the intestine.

Scientific studies show that 1 gram of Neopuntia™ binds up to 15-20 grams of saturated fat; this binding capacity exceeds that of any other known substance.

Recent studies, conducted using a mechanical model capable of faithfully simulating all the physiological conditions of the gastro-intestinal tract (pH, enzymatic concentrations, bile salt concentrations, etc.) have shown that 2 g of Neopuntia™ were able to absorb over 28.3% of the overall saturated, unsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids present, thus limiting their absorption.

The extract has also traditionally been used for its good hypoglycemic and lipid-lowering properties.

Phaseolamin is a plant-derived protein obtained from white beans. It is able to influence the absorption of carbohydrates, as it reduces the activity of alpha-amylase enzymes, active in the digestion of starches. Phaseolamine has a high affinity for pancreatic amylase to which it binds, reducing its enzymatic activity. In this way the complex carbohydrates, no longer transformed into simple sugars, are not absorbed, but eliminated with the faeces.

The new formulation contains Ascophyllum nodosum extract (ID-alG™), a brown algae grown with a 100% green method, which has shown clinically significant enzyme inhibition properties up to 50% on lipase and amylase, the enzymes responsible for the digestion of fats and sugars.

This feature results in the ability to reduce the absorption of calories from these macronutrients, leading to weight loss over time.

Subjects who reacted most successfully to ID-alG™ treatment had a BMI <32. Another feature highlighted by clinical studies carried out with ID-alG™, is the reduction of glycated haemoglobin which confirms the inhibitory activity of amylase Hbg.

ID-alG™ has no side effects, it is contraindicated only in case subjects intolerant to iodine intake (content equal to 37.5 mcg per tablet). The intake of 0 Calorie is therefore effective in case of those who intend to lose weight or control their sugar intake. But not to completely give up certain pleasures when it comes to food.

0 Calorie is specifically indicated to reduce daily calorie intake and facilitate body weight control. It can be a useful complement to improve the blood lipid profile.
