BROMELINA

Pineapple was used already by the natives of Central and South America to treat a wide variety of aliments. Bromelain, a substance related to a large family of proteolytic enzymes, is extracted from the stem and the fruit. In vitro and in vivo studies confirm that bromelain is able to perform an anti-inflammatory activity by reducing the synthesis of bradykinin and prostaglandin E2. Furthermore, it modulates the activity of white blood cells, helps to activate natural killer cells, exerts fibrinolytic, anti-edematous and anti-thrombotic activity. It is therefore an effective natural remedy to prevent and combat various conditions of acute discomfort and pathologies. It is successfully used in treating dyspepsia and supporting protein digestion, particularly in the presence of pancreatic deficiency. It also performs antibacterial activity in case of diarrhoea.

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory function, bromelain can be used post-exercise to reduce muscle pain (DOMS) and speed up recovery. In this case, thanks to the significant anti-oedematous features, it helps to reduce fluids from traumas, to counteract the retention of peripheral liquids and the formation of cellulite. Due to its antiplatelet and fibrinolytic action, it is necessary to pay attention to the potential side effects of bromelain when used by individuals who use anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs. Attention should also be paid to its use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, for which a doctor’s opinion is recommended.

Bromelina Syform has a high dosage of g.d.u. (gelatin digesting unit) equal to 2.500/g, which shows the degree of activity of bromelain.

Bromelina is indicated to improve digestion, counteract swelling following traumas and fluid retention. It helps also in various inflammatory conditions.

CONDITIONS OF USE

Take 2 tablets a day, with a sip of water.
