X-Plosiv Boost Gel (66 ml) is a concentrated carbohydrate gel featuring multiple absorption rates. Compared to the PRO version, it contains an additional 100 mg of caffeine per gel, delivering both rapid and sustained energy release over time. Thanks to its caffeine content—known for its stimulating effect on the nervous system—X-Plosiv Boost supports nerve impulse transmission, enhances focus and mood, and contributes to energy metabolism.

X-Plosiv Boost delivers a full 40 g of carbohydrates and is formulated with maltodextrin D.E. 19, fructose, and dextrose in a 2:1 ratio—ideal for meeting energy demands during intense and prolonged exercise. Scientific research shows that maximizing one’s muscular performance requires a high sugar intake per hour. To achieve this, combining glucose and fructose in a 2:1 ratio—rather than consuming glucose alone—is essential.

The 2:1 ratio allows muscles to absorb up to 90 g of carbohydrates per hour without causing gastrointestinal discomfort. For higher intakes, the use of Fusion Gel—featuring a 1:1 maltodextrin-to-fructose ratio—is recommended. Until a few years ago, it was believed that the body could absorb a maximum of 60 g of carbohydrates per hour in the form of glucose. More recently, it has been shown that consuming blends of different carbohydrates improves performance. In particular, a 2:1 glucose-to-fructose ratio makes it possible to reach 90 g/h, as it enables the body to utilize two distinct intestinal transport pathways for sugar absorption.

Glucose is absorbed via the GLUT1 transporter, while fructose through GLUT5. X-Plosiv Boost passes quickly through the stomach and is rapidly absorbed, featuring a light flavor profile designed to support optimal muscular balance. Another key factor to consider is the timing of carbohydrate intake during physical activity. In particular, during the first two hours of intense exercise—when glycogen stores are still relatively high—a 2:1 ratio appears to be preferable. In the later stages, however, as fatigue sets in and glycogen stores decline, a 1:1 ratio may be more effective.
