MGK

MgK is a dietary supplement containing magnesium and potassium, two minerals that act synergistically to regulate many cell processes. Their presence is extremely important in what is defined as the “electrolyte balance” or balance of mineral salts.

Magnesium, whose features can be read in the description of Magnesio 3, is an essential mineral and yet its deficiency is quite widespread in Europe, so much so that the VNR has recently been raised to 375 mg per day.

Potassium is one of the main trace elements present in the human organism and is involved in many biochemical reactions that are essential for life. Its functions concern the regulation of energy mechanisms: it boosts muscle glycogen synthesis and protein synthesis. About 98% of potassium is found inside the cells.

The concentration of potassium is closely related to the concentration of sodium, the main mineral in extracellular fluids. Any unbalance in their relationship in favour of sodium determines the percentage of water retention, which is associated with cellulite in women's bodies. Intracellular potassium deficiencies cause oedema, intracellular damage and hypertension. In addition, potassium is the main antagonist of calcium, whereby a reduced tissue level of this mineral causes dangerous intracellular retention of calcium. In case of potassium deficiencies, the organism has limited energy supplies and increases its fatty reserves. In case of diarrhoea or vomiting, as well as high-salt diets, there can be a significant loss of potassium with the consequent reduction of arterial blood pressure, tonicity of skeletal and cardiac muscle, and hypoglycaemia. Intense physical activity, if practised in a hot and humid environment which increases sweating, also contributes to reducing the concentration of potassium, causing dehydration and hypotension.

Potassium deficiency is associated with tiredness and fatigue.

MgK is indicated in case of an increased requirement or lack of magnesium and potassium following intense and long muscle effort with profuse sweating, in case of concentration disorders and conditions of psycho-physical asthenia, muscle cramps and fatigue, diarrhoea and the premenstrual syndrome.

CONDITIONS OF USE

Take 3 tablets throughout the day, preferably on a full stomach.
