Rosehip is a medicinal plant rich in flavonoids and Vitamin C or ascorbic acid, ten times higher than the amount contained in citrus fruit juice. Ascorbic acid is an essential vitamin, as it stimulates the synthesis of collagen, facilitates tissue healing and growth, regulates the production of carnitine and some neurotransmitters and hormones, regulates the absorption and use of important nutritional factors (iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, etc.), improves the immune system’s response by increasing the production of antibodies and strengthening the function of phagocytes, participates in the processes of cell respiration, modulates allergies and inflammatory processes. Thanks to all these features, Vitamin C has traditionally been indicated to prevent cardio-circulatory diseases and winter illnesses, such as cold and flu.

Natural Vitamin C is known mainly for its ability to act, in synergy with Vitamin E and Vitamin A, as an antioxidant against the free radicals, and thus contributes to neutralising the oxidative damage they cause mainly in membrane phospholipids and cellular nucleus.
