ACEFOS

Acefos contains a combination of active ingredients which help fight mental and physical stress. Unlike other salts, acetyl-carnitine is able to break beyond the blood-brain barrier and carry out a neuroprotective activity. It is used in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, in case of depression or in diabetic neuropathy. During the exertion phase it increases the availability of energy, facilitating the transport of fats in the mitochondria, where they are oxidised during aerobic metabolism. In addition, acetyl-carnitine seems to boost the increase of testosterone receptor concentration. Indeed, it is deemed capable of reducing muscle catabolism (proteolysis) and accelerating recovery from strenuous and prolonged effort.

Phosphatidylserine, a non-naturally occurring phospholipid obtained indirectly from soy lecithin, is an essential constituent of all biological membranes. It is abundantly contained in the brain, lungs, kidneys, liver and testicles. Regular intake of 400-800 mg dose has proven to fight conditions such as stress, mental fatigue and memory impairment. Based on recent studies, it has the feature of regulating the plasma levels of cortisol and ACTH, both of which are stress hormones. Cortisol is a “muscle-emptying” hormone, and its excessive production weakens the activity of certain parts of the nervous system. The organism produces cortisol when it is exposed to intense psychophysical stress, for example during prolonged physical activity.

Acefos contains also SAME (S-adenosylmethionine), an important metabolic support for thy DNA-RNA synthesis. SAME helps the regulation of polyamines (spermidine, spermine, putrescine), a group of metabolic intermediates which is still rather unknown and seems to have a key role in the synthesis of body proteins. The use of SAME has been successfully tested in depression, as it seems to improve the production of important excitatory neurotransmitters, and also as a liver detoxifier.

Acefos is indicated to counteract general stress, particularly when associated with elevated cortisol levels, mental fatigue, and memory deficits. If taken regularly, it contributes to increasing the availability of energy, delaying fatigue, improving recovery in endurance sports (running, cycling, etc.).

CONDITIONS OF USE

Take 3 capsules a day, with half a glass of water.
