POLAR Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is also known as ubiquinone. It has long been used as a micronutrient support of cardiovascular health, as it is useful for the function of heart muscle cells.

Coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant molecule responsible for an essential function of mitochondria, cellular organelles of energy production.

Its deficiency leads to fatigue, muscle pain and cardiovascular pathologies.

The chronic use of statin, anti-cholesterol drugs contributes to reducing the cellular availability of CoQ10 and to generating side effects, such as muscle pain, tiredness and fatigue.

Polar Q10 contains a special phytosome form of CoQ10, Ubiqsome®, a form of a highly effective muscle delivery, whose ability to counteract the side effects of statins and optimise the cellular energy availability has been proven by clinical studies.

Other studies have confirmed its antioxidant function and its ability to positively modulate the synthesis of pro-inflammatory substances, such as NF-kB, C-reactive protein, interleukin 6, 1α e 1β. Ubiqsome® is formed by a double layer of phospholipid extracts of sunflower. This structure protects CoQ10 from intestinal oxidation and enables its absorption.

In fact, phytosome provides CoQ10 with an elevated polarity, which facilitates its passage through the cell membranes.

Polar Q10 can act as a useful nutritious support in case of chronic fatigue, statin intake, to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases or prevent cellular ageing. Its use can be beneficial in case of athletes who practise intense physical activity and who might thus have an elevated turnover of this nutrient.
