BIOBERBERINA

Bioberberina is a recently developed natural nutraceutical complex, whose functions are based on a synergistic mechanism between berberine and silymarin.

Bioberberine has a high potential for use thanks to the features f+of berberine. Berberine is a natural isoquinoline alkaloid, bitter and with an intense yellow colour. It is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine.

Numerous scientific studies seem to confirm that berberine has positive effects on the blood lipid profile, as it facilitates the stability of blood sugar and helps to reduce LDL “bad” cholesterol. In particular, its benefits are obtained thanks to a precise mechanism of action:

• It improves the sensitivity of GLUT4 receptors to insulin, helping to reduce and stabilise the glycemia.
• It improves the lipid profile by increasing LDL receptors through its ability to inhibit PCSK9.
• It helps the reduction of total cholesterol, as it facilitates the excretion of cholesterol, promotes its liver turnover and increases the synthesis of bile acids.
• It facilitates thermogenesis through its indirect effect on AMPK.

Why combine the use of berberine with silymarin?

The use of berberine has only one current limit, namely its reduced bioavailability for oral intake. Silymarine comes to our rescue, as it helps to improve the intestinal absorption of berberine by acting as a carrier. Therefore, this innovative combination of berberine and silymarin has been proven more effective than berberine alone.

Bioberberina is indicated as an adjuvant in the stabilisation of glycemia and dyslipidemia, therefore a potential support in case of hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, hypercholesterolemia and metabolic syndrome.
