SAME

Same is a supplement based on S-Adenosylmethionine or SAMe, an amino acid involved in numerous metabolic reactions in the human organism. It is produced mainly in the liver, derived from the amino acid methionine.

The main function of SAMe is to act as a “methyl” donor, which is a chemical group essential in the production of neurotransmitters related to mood, such as dopamine, serotonin, and noradrenaline. It seems that there is a correlation between the decrease of SAMe levels in the brain fluid and mood alteration.

Doses between 400 and 1600 mg of SAMe per day are superior to the placebo during the treatment of symptoms of depression. According to some studies, their efficiency is comparable to some antidepressants, as their action shows fast, within a few days and with minor side effects.

Due to possible drug interactions, the intake of SAMe with a simultaneous intake of antidepressants must be approved by a doctor.

SAMe is essential for the synthesis of polyamines, such as spermidine, regulating factors of protein synthesis. This activity is particularly important to facilitate regeneration of cells and connective tissues.

Thanks to its methylating ability, SAMe is also a factor of gene regulation.

SAMe participates also in the synthesis of phospholipids, such as phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylserine, which are structural constituents of the cell wall. It thus contributes to guaranteeing an excellent fluidity and elasticity of the membrane.

Same is indicated as a nutritional support to facilitate the cognitive abilities in case of people with signs of anxiety, depression and irritability; to support detoxifying action in the liver, and to facilitate cellular regeneration.

CONDITIONS OF USE

Take 1 tablet per day, with a sip of water.
