Martin Castrogiovanni – “Castro” to his many fans – is one of the best prop-forwards on the planet, a linchpin of the Tigers scrum since he arrived from his native Argentina via Italy. Castro played with Leicester Tigers from 2007 to 2013. Named Premiership Player of the Year in his debut season in 2006/07, Castrogiovanni has won three league titles with Tigers in his first four years with the club.

After seven years at Welford Road, he signed for French club Toulon and he won Heineken Cup and Top14 during his first season in Cote d’Azur (2013-14).

Castrogiovanni earned his international spurs on Italy’s 2002 summer tour against the All Blacks and has been an ever-present since. He played every game of Italy’s RBS Six Nations campaign from 2003, World Championships in Australia (2003), France (2007) and New Zealand (2011).
